Quick Look at Sustainable London Venues

Here at Delicious we are always looking for ways to make our work as sustainable as possible. As a member of 1% For The Planet and a Certified Green Mark Business, this is something that we feel very strongly about. We love to organise your events whilst being as conscious as can be! Here are some of our favourite London-based venues that support all the best things and are a strong reflection of our own eco-friendly values.

Barbican Centre

An iconic London venue, The Barbican prides itself on its sustainability focus. With a strong commitment to reducing its environmental impact and supporting biodiversity, hosting your events at the Barbican can be done with a clean conscience. It stands out as a top choice for those seeking sustainable event spaces in the city. Their conservatory is a versatile and unique space for a number of events, accommodating up to 300 people for a standing reception.

The Lookout, Hyde Park

In the centre of one of London’s largest parks, The Lookout sits in the centre of Hyde Park as a sustainable event space. Its bespoke features, designed by architect David Morley, make it a unique and sustainable space for a variety of events from private dining, media launches, meetings and conferences, to large parties for up to 300 guests. Some of their sustainability measures include their wall cavities filled with recycled newspaper, the maximisation of natural ventilation and light, appliances with low-carbon and water-saving, and bat boxes to encourage biodiversity and rare species habitat creation.

Petersham Nurseries, Richmond

For the past four consecutive years, Petersham Nurseries has been awarded a Michelin Green Star as a tribute to their hard work and commitment to sustainability. They are keen advocates for all things organic, sourcing produce from their own family farm in Devon and consistently maintaining quality and chemical-free ways of growing at the farm and in their kitchen garden. One of their main goals is to completely eliminate waste across all levels, and they also employ this ethos on their farm with a circular system. They have multiple event spaces that could work depending on the occasion.

Skylon

Based in the Royal Festival Hall on the Southbank, Skylon (an oldie but a goodie) has been named as part of the Sustainable Large Group of the Year at the Sustainable Restaurant Awards. With a focus on locally sourcing their produce in Britain and their fish and seafood from British waters, they are making their best efforts to be as conscious as possible. Even the Skylon cocktails have a conscience, and support Fairtrade all year round in the bar. They can accommodate for semi-private and group dining, or large-scale private and exclusive hires, with capacity for up to 500 people standing. Why not enjoy an eco-friendly summer party with stunning floor-to-ceiling views of the Thames?

Sustainability is a big focus of ours here at Delicious Agency and we love to help you make your events as conscious as possible. Whether you are looking to organise a summer party or a corporate conference, there are lots of ways to make this possible whilst keeping the impact on our environment as minimal as possible.
