Remembering two groom’s personal paradise, in a stunning Georgian Mansion in Dulwich…
Having kicked off the wedding season, we were thinking back to a one of a kind wedding we had the pleasure to organise, last Summer in London.
This lovely couple wanted to bring traces of their culture to their one and only special day. With one of the grooms being German, the other South African, we incorporated both heritages into the wedding’s décor and catering. Beginning with the venue, an easily accessible Georgian Manor House with colonial influences in Dulwich, South East London. Originally built in 1785, this event space was the perfect location for this wedding, which we were able to dress taking SA influences of floral, using exotic flowers such as proteas and strelicia.
Fortunately the weather didn’t disappoint, and we were able to arrange a beautiful semi-circle ceremony in Belair Park, situated at the rear of the Manor. This finished with an unforgettable rainbow coloured balloon release!
Food wise, we worked closely with the venue to create the groom’s dream menu, a colourful selection of vegetarian and vegan canapés, followed by a cheese table, healthy salads and an onsite BBQ. An airstream bar serving their special signature Ice Tea drink, along with their very own wine tasting station, offering their favourite German ‘Sekt’ and SA wines.
The wedding cake was created by Luminary Bakery, a social enterprise East London café which aids women in social and economic disadvantage. When the sun went down, guests danced the night away in the interior of this gorgeous venue by the mixes of the female collective Resis’Dance, topped off with a surprise fire dancing act!
The entire day was a real dream to organise and we thank the grooms for choosing us as their wedding planners!
