Cronuts, Crodoughs & Doughnuts – Our Lip Licking London Top 5

It may be bikini season but if you know how to devote your calories for max gratification, we think a sugary morsel can still be on the cards this summer. With selfless devotion to what tastes good, we went on a lip licking mission to bring you the very best of London’s most en-vogue baked mouth amusements.

delicious london top 5 doughnuts

Raspberry Creme at Dum Dum Donutterie.

“Baked not fried’, these devilish delights are more virtuous than sinful (ahem!). DumDum’s fresh baked goods are lovingly handmade and contain significantly less fat than your average Joe doughnut. Head to their pop up in Box Park in Shoreditch to get your (jammy) fill.

If you like your sugar hit with some sophistication then head to Cocomaya. This artisan bakery offers their ‘CocoDough’ in an array of highly enticing flavours. Pleasure you senses at one of the Cocomaya bakeries on Connaught St or Pavilion Road. Alternatively try Selfridges or Fortnum & Mason.

Rinkoff Bakery

This modest family bakery located in Whitechapel serves up the biggest croughdoughs on offer in London – be prepared to get messy when sinking your teeth into these monster doughnut hybrids. These whoppers are available in a variety of unassuming combinations and won’t dissatisfy those hunger pangs.

Duck and Waffle

If you are on the hunt for a cronut with a view then make your way up Heron tower to Duck and Waffle.  Coined by head chef Dan Doherty as ‘The Dosant’, this pastry is filled with exquisite Chantilly cream and covered in a cinnamon sugar glaze.

Satisfy any sweet tooth on the streets of East London with a ‘sell out’ 1235 doughnut, straight from the dynamic foodie duo that is Brad (of The Lockhart London) and Molly McDonald. Endearingly named after asking their daughter ‘How many doughnut’s would you like, one, two three…’ to which she replied ‘five!’. Delve into a gooey, widely adored American inspired ‘donut’ on Columbia Road.
