A few weeks ago we descended into Quaglino’s in Mayfair for the launch of the LoveMusicLoveFood exhibition, commissioned by renowned food photographer Patrice De Villiers.
We salivated at what we saw, they do say you eat with your eyes…. The photographic images in this compact exhibition are any foodie, pop and rock culture cravers dream: Rich, entertaining and expertly shot photos of the musical and ravenous.
The images are taken from the LoveMusicLoveFood – The Rock Star Cookbook. This is magnificent coffee table style book with recipes and food tales from the rock royalty between the covers (of the book). Think: Noel Gallagher, Juliette Lewis, The Kooks, Roger Daltrey, Brandon Flowers, Brian May, Siouxsie Sioux and Paul Weller and their favourite foods.
Of course we bought a book, here was no way we were leaving without one and since then have spent many a spare moment drooling over the rich vivid pics of music glitterati and their chosen food desires.
We love the sound of Kasbian and Noel Fielding’s love of a Beggars Banquet Feast of Jacobean Game Soup, Black Pudding & Fig Stuffed Belly of Pork and Pheasant, Oyster Sauce Gyoza with Ponzu Sauce or reading about Brian May’s penchant for Grapefruit in the morning, accompanied by a recipe for Pink Grapefruit & Mint Granite with Black Raspberry Sauce. Dribble.
This book is a pop culture and food fashion follower’s wet dream with #foodporn and unique imagery a plenty. We are proud to grace our table with it and can’t wait to pick out recipes, plus this is all for a great cause with the LoveMusicLoveFood concept having been created by Patrice in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust.
‘…The inspiration for LoveMusicLoveFood was created after a conversation one night with Muse front man, Matt Bellamy. Chatting after a gig, it emerged that he loves to cook pasta at his home in Italy’.
“I found the thought of a rock star so involved in food intriguing and had the potential for some creative imagery combining the portraits of artists with their favorite food or drink.” Patrice de Villiers
The book offers portraits by Patrice, interviews by renowned music journo Andrew Harrison, a foreword written by chef Heston Blumenthal, along side bespoke recipes by cook Sarah Muir. Divine.
We think the LoveMusicLoveFood – The Rock star Cookbook is an excellent chose for a Christmas gift for the music and food lovers in your life. Apparently its available from major retailers now. Or via the site www.lovemusiclovefood.org. The book costs around £30.
