‘What is the first thing you visualise when you imagine a chef? A sommelier? A restaurant critic? Now, did you see three men?’ Yes, us too, even though we are currently an all female, very successful team! So when we heard about Toast’s event presenting Women In Food (not literally) we just had to support! We’ve booked our tickets. Below there is a link so you can too (yes, even you men folk!).

TOAST presents Women In Food, is a series of events aiming to challenge such perceptions scheduled on the 7th, 13th and 21st November at the Hide Gallery in Bermondsey. Expect an impressive line up including  ES Magazine’s resident food critic Grace Dent  and award-winning chef, Skye Gyngell. We look forward to hearing what they have to say and bigging-up the achievements of women in the heavily testosterone infused foodie kingdom.

7th November, 7-9pm: Women in Wine, starts with a discussion led by Saturday Brunch’s Rebecca Seal, Sunday Times wine writer Kate Spicer and head wine buyer for the Hakkasan Group, Christine Parkinson.

13th November, 7-9pm: Women In Restaurants, moderated by Conde Naste Traveller’s Sophie Dening with panel including Skye Gyngell and bar manager of Hawksmoor Seven Dials, Rachel Naylor.

21st November,7-9pm: Women In Media, panelists include ES Magazine’s resident restaurant critic Grace Dent, The Telegraph’s Bee Wilson and the Guardian’s Felicity Cloake and Norwegian chef and author, Signe Johansen.

Tickets on sale at http://www.toastfestival.com/events/tickets/1 tickets cost £15 per event and £35 for all three and will include post-panel sparkling refreshments from British wine producers Nyetimber and Scandinavian canapés from Signe Johansen.
